Assistant Principal - Secondary
Reports To: Building Principal
Primary Purpose: Assist the principal in directing and managing the instructional program and assist in supervision of operations and personnel at campus level. Assist the principal in providing leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service. Assist in overseeing compliance with district policies, success of instructional programs and operation of all campus activities.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master’s Degree
Arkansas certification for appropriate assistant principalship assignment
Valid Arkansas teaching certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Ability to coordinate campus functions
Ability to interpret policy, procedures and data
Strong organizational, communication, public relations and interpersonal skills
Experience
Three years as a classroom teacher

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Administer the classroom and its program.
2. To direct and evaluate the learning experience of the pupil in both curricular and extra-curricular activities.
3. Provide guidance to the pupil which will best promote the pupil’s welfare and educational development in accordance with abilities.
4. Comply with the direction of the school administration in all matters relating to the instruction of assigned students.
5. Be responsible for pupil records and accounting as required by the Board or by statute.
6. Maintain such relationship with students as is conductive to and consistent with desirable progress and growth in all areas of good citizenship.
7. Maintain the most pleasant and friendly relationship possible with the parents.
8. Maintain cordial and workable relationship with colleagues.
9. Take part in faculty meetings and the in-service education program of the school.
10. Cooperate with and participate in the planning and the evaluation of the school program.
11. Provide for the care and protection of school property.
12. Comply with regulations as to hours of arrival and departure from school.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal as necessary to the school program.

Assistant Band Director
Requirement: Bachelor's Degree with State Certification in Music K-12
Candidates should possess a desire to work as a team member with the rest of the band staff, as well as other areas of the Performing Arts.
A percussionist or brass specialist is preferred; however, all those interested are encouraged to apply.
Duties include:
• Assisting with marching band rehearsals at both the High School and Middle School campus,
• Assisting/Leading the Indoor Percussion program,
• Teaching one course of General Music,
• Teaching two groups of 6th grade beginners (one on your primary, one on a secondary),
• Leading sectionals or assisting in other rehearsals as needed
The Magnolia Band program serves approximately 350 students across the school district. The Magnolia School District also recently finished construction of a nine million dollar performing arts facility.
