I graduated from Magnolia High School in 1996.
I graduated from Southern Arkansas University in 2000.
I have a BSE in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Middle School Math.
I am certified in Elementary Education grades 1-6, Middle School Math grade 4-8, and Secondary Math grade 7-12.
I have been trained in Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI), Minestorms NXT Robotics, Math Links, STEM training (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), and the Arkansas Next Generation Science Standards.
I joined the Central Elementary School family in August of 2006 and have taught 4th grade here for the past 10 years! I currently teach 4th grade Math, Science, and Social Studies. My switch partner is Joni Bonds, who teaches Literacy.
My first 2 years of teaching were at Stephens High School in Stephens, Arkansas where I taught 7th grade math, 8th grade math, Alegra IA, and Algebra IB. After marrying, I moved to the Little Rock area where I began teaching in North Little Rock School District and Seventh Street Fine Arts Elementary. I was the Math Facilitator/Teacher for one year and then I taught 4th grade for the next two years.
I am happily married to Ryan Cornwell and have 2 wonderful kids, Lindsey and Will who attend school here in Magnolia.
I attend First Baptist Church here in Magnolia where I am a Nursery Sunday School teacher and the Sparks director for AWANA.
I am currently the chapter chair of Magnolia Circle of Friends, a volunteer group that raises money and health awareness for Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
