I graduated from Stamps High School in Stamps, Arkansas in 1994 and graduated with a degree in early childhood education from Southern Arkansas University in May of 2002.
BSE in Early Childhood Education
I am certified to teach preschool through 6th grade.
I started at Central teaching 5th grade literacy, moved to 6th grade science and writing, and now I’m teaching 4th grade math, science, and social studies. I am beginning my 6th year at Central.
After I graduated from SAU, my first job was working for Southwest Co-op in Hope teaching their preschool in Stamps for one year. I then taught 3rd grade for 2 years at Ivory Primary School in Camden. From there I began a career at Lafayette County Elementary teaching Kindergarten for one year then 3rd grade for 5 years.
I married Robby Metcalf from Magnolia in December of 1996. He is a supervisor at Deltic Timber in Waldo. We have two sons, Tyler and Todd. Tyler is 18 and just graduated from Magnolia High School. He helped lead the Magnolia Panthers Baseball team to the 5A State Championship in May as the 3rd baseman! That was so exciting! He will attend SAU this fall. Todd is 13 and in 8th grade at Magnolia Junior High. He is a lineman for the 8th grade Cubs football team. We have 2 dogs, Trevor, a pomeranian, and Bud, a 123 lb chocolate lab.
